McKamish was the design-assists HVAC and plumbing contractor for the AHN Neuroscience Institute at Allegheny General Hospital.

McKamish was the design-assist HVAC and plumbing contractor for the multi-phase renovation at Allegheny General Hospital, transforming the Hemlock building into the new Neuroscience Institute. Our team led early procurement efforts, including pre-purchasing equipment and managing the submittal process to maintain schedule and cost efficiency. The scope included installation of new main distribution systems for hot water, steam, chilled water, supply air, return air, and exhaust.

We constructed a new central mechanical room featuring an air handling unit, chilled water pumps, heat exchangers, and hot water pumps. In addition, five existing rooftop air handling units were rebuilt, and two new units were installed to support the upgraded facility. 

Extensive BIM coordination was performed across each floor and project phase to ensure seamless integration of all trades. The project also included significant plumbing upgrades, including replacement of sanitary systems from cast iron to PVC, installation of new plumbing mains, and the construction of all new restroom facilities.
