McKamish was selected as the design-assist mechanical contractor for the renovations and addition to Town Place.
Located in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh, Town Place was a renovation to an existing parking garage and office building. Floors six through nine were converted from offices to more parking and floors ten through twelve were converted into a fully furnished corporate hotel/extended stay rental units. Major equipment included vertical water source heat pumps, horizontal heat pumps, energy recovery units and rooftop units providing makeup air and exhaust. The new mechanical room consisted of condensing boilers, pumps, heat exchangers and a new cooling tower. The major project challenge was working in a building that was originally built in the 1920's. The Team dealt with varying elevations and tolerances within that construction.
