Purchasing Assistant

Job Description

Assist Purchasing Agents in accommodating project teams, shop and field personnel with any purchasing needs or requests. 

Daily Responsibilities:
  • Answer service purchasing line and issue purchase orders
  • Place basic and standardized orders as directed
  • Expedite order deliveries and back ordered materials
  • Manage purchasing department email inbox
  • Update pricing in purchase order log
  • Assist in maintaining purchasing files via computer
  • Process purchasing paper work from field foremen
  • Research issues on order acknowledgements and packing slips
  • Validate, review and approve invoices and purchase orders
  • Utilize Penta and OnBase software
As Needed Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with Accounting, Superintendents, Shop & Field Foremen,  Shipping & Receiving and Project Teams
  • Data entry on tool transfers and new tool input
  • Maintain vehicle files
  • Receptionist Backup
  • Special projects and duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Windows & Microsoft Office
  • Strong knowledge of Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, Outlook and Internet Navigation
  • Demonstrate collaboration, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Experience with inventory control and sourcing
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize as required
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to meet deadlines for time sensitive tasks
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues
